"The Worth of Emptiness"
Abraham, the Father of Faith, gave up on everything when God told him that he would show A Land of Promise to Abraham. He gave up on his hometown, family, and job. The disciples did the same thing when Jesus called them. They forsook their own especially the ones they cherished the most, yet that was when they earned something much more valuable. It is impossible to earn something special without giving up some of your own. We should learn how to fors...ake what we love the most in order to gain what is worthy. There is only one reason when we empty those cups, plates, backpacks, and closets - to refill it with something else. To empty it means to refill it with something new. Jesus forsook everything for his love for us. He even forsook his status as God. God became Jesus who is in the form of flesh just like us. Jesus filled us with his ultimate love. Are you still holding on to something desperately although you know you have to empty it first? We can receive something new when we are ready, emptying ourselves. I pray that you empty yourself and forsake what you have been holding on to in life so that you have a room only to rely on God’s promising words in Jesus’s generous name. This way, you can be filled with the Holy Spirit, not with your greed.
"Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God. But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men"
(Philippians 2:6-7)
