“Homosexuality in the Perspective of Christian"

This year, Gay Festival is held on June 11th at Seoul Square. It is such a controversial and sensitive issue that it is hard to be opposed to them directly. This is because Gay people are the minority of the society whose human right needs to be protected. They are in the same category of 'social minority' as the handicapped and North Korean defector in the name of ‘sexual minorities’. It is true that the community is supposed ...to protect and support social minorities who need tender loving care. However, the real issue arises when people merely perceive homosexuality in the aspect of human right. It is scientifically proven that homosexuality is not related to nature, but nurture. Besides, it is a primary cause of AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome). Homosexuality blurs the difference between mother and father. Eventually, it destroys a healthy family due to the absence of sexual reproduction. Homosexuality is a disease resulted from committing a sin. In this regard, we need to help them find a way to be treated by sharing their concern rather than either to only embrace them in the name of human right or to criticize them based on the God’s commandments. We need to find alternatives hand in hand especially for our next generations instead of simply going extreme about it. Again, homosexuality is a sin; however, I hope that there are more Christians who are against their sin, yet embrace them with heart. I pray that all of us live a life with love and maturity in Jesus’s merciful name. Amen.

"And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet." (Romans 1:27)
